Eyelash Tinting: Should You Do It?

Imagine waking up every morning with eyelashes that are already the perfect color. All you have to do is curl and go – no mascara required! Eyelash tinting is a really popular procedure, but there are a few things to think about before you go that route.

Choosing the Right Aesthetician

Tinting your eyelashes on your own is not a good idea. If the color is not applied properly, you could wind up with some serious eye problems (when chemicals leak into your eyes, the result can be very damaging), so resist the urge to do this beauty treatment on your own. That said, it’s also vital that you select the right person to tint your lashes.

What to look for:

  1. Someone with experience – more than a year is a good idea.
  2. A color expert: it’s hard to pick the right color, so make sure the person you are working with can choose the right color for you.
  3. The right product: you don’t want any old color going near your eyes!
  4. Safety precautions: the person that’s tinting your eyelashes should explain the procedure to you carefully, make sure that you follow directions, and be certain that you won’t run into any kind of trouble during this process.

At Athena, you can rest assured that all of our salon experts know how to tint lashes properly, and that we have experience doing this kind of color work on all types of eyelashes. We will set you up with the right color, make sure that you are happy with the color choice, and explain the procedure to you prior to adding any kind of tint. But, what about safety? Is eyelash tinting safe?

Safety Concerns

You may have read about the dangers of eyelash tinting. The truth of the matter is that this procedure is only dangerous if you do not work with a professional. Most of the time, people that get into trouble with this kind of tinting do so because color is not applied properly, or because safety precautions are not considered. When done properly, the results of eyelash tinting can be amazing. In fact, tinting is a perfect solution to lashes that aren’t darkly colored, need a bit of a boost, or for anyone that’s tired of buying and applying mascara.

You will have to get your lashes tinted regularly (just like your hair color), but maintenance is simple enough. If you decide that tinted lashes aren’t for you, you can simply stop the process and go back to using mascara. Simple enough, right? If you have any additional questions, though, we completely understand! That’s why we are more than happy to set you up with a free color consultation with one of our experts. Come in and let us know what questions you have, and we would be more than happy to show you exactly how this process works.
