What Hair Color Should You Choose For Fall?

The weather here in Fort Collins may still be hot and sunny, but it will be fall before you know it. Soon, we will be blessed with cooler temperatures, vibrant colored leaves, and the smell of spices in the air. It’s long been tradition to change your hair color twice per year- in spring, and in fall, as this is the most flattering for both the changes in skin tan level and clothing styles that accompany the seasonal shift. Typically, we lighten and brighten for spring and summer, and darken and enrich for the cooler months, and it’s never too early to start thinking of your perfect fall hair hue!

Depending on your skin tone, and the colors of clothing you typically wear, you have an array of hair color shades and textures that you can try out this year. Here are a few of our fall recommendations!

  1. Chestnut brown with auburn highlights

Fall is all about warmth and richness, and hair colors on the redder end of the spectrum are always a classic choice. A deep chestnut is both sensuous and shiny, and the warm highlights will keep it from looking too flat.

  1. Dusky rose

For those who love their blond hair, but perhaps want to tone it down for fall, without going brunette, adding in some pink is a great new trend. You’ll end up with a soft, dusty rose color that compliments your skin tone, but doesn’t scream springtime.

  1. Bronde

This hot new trend is perfect for fall, mixing the best of both blonde and brunette shades into one soft, caramel delight. Deeper brown roots and lowlights are complemented by warm honey locks, giving dimension and interest. Just be sure to have a professional do this color for you, otherwise you may end up with orange hair!

  1. Cinnamon

The perfect marriage of red and brown, with the bubbly lift of blonde, is cinnamon. This special hue is soft, warm, and goes well with lots of different skin tones, offering all over dimensional color for those wanting something a bit different this year.

  1. Milk chocolate with gold highlights

Soft, light brown is a highly underrated hair color for fall, and it looks wonderful on just about everyone. Rich chocolate strands are livened up with shimmery, golden highlights, giving just the perfect amount of depth and interest for even the most conservative among us.
