When removing old nail polish make sure to use cotton balls as tissues tend to fall apart.

Fill a large bowl with warm water and Epsom salts and soak your tootsies for at least ten minutes.

Dry your feet with a towel and apply cuticle cream to soften your cuticles. You can also use olive oil as a substitution for cuticle cream.

Next it’s time to exfoliate. Use a pumice stone or pad while you’re waiting for your cuticles to soften. Then remove dry skin from your feet and legs using a foot scrub. You can even make your own foot scrub using Epsom salts and a tablespoon of olive oil. Massage the scrub onto your feet and calves.

Trim your toenails with a nail clipper by cutting them straight across. Smooth uneven edges or points with a nail file.

With a cuticle stick, push back cuticles but be careful not to break the skin.

Next, wipe your toenails with undiluted white vinegar and let dry.

Use toe separating pads or wadded up facial tissues in between your toes to eliminate smudging.

Apply a clear coat of enamel as a base and then two thin coats of your favorite fresh and springy nail color. Then apply another clear coat as a top coat and let dry completely.

To finish the process, apply lotion to your legs and feet.

You should now have a beautifully refreshed at-home pedicure that should suffice until your next trip to Athena’s premier nail salon. Make an appointment today to experience Athena’s award-winning spa services including a fresh new pedicure.
